Writing · a plain guide

# Is your website ready for AI?

Being easy to find is not the same as being ready. A machine can know your website is there and still not understand a single word of it. Here is what **ready** really means, in plain terms, and the journey every business takes to get there.

A five minute read · plain words · no jargon

The one idea to hold on to

## Being found is the easy part. Being understood is the work.

Picture your business on a busy street. A machine walks past and sees your sign is there. That is being found, and it is easy. But then it looks in the window, tries to make sense of what you sell, and cannot. So it walks the customer to the shop next door instead.

That is the whole gap, in one picture. Almost every website can be found. Far fewer can be **understood**, and fewer still are **trusted enough to be named** when someone asks. Ready means all three: a machine can find you, read you clearly, and put your name forward with confidence.

The journey

## Every business travels the same road.

Almost everyone starts unseen by AI, and you do not have to arrive all at once. What matters is knowing where you are on the road, because that is what decides whether an assistant can recommend you at all.

Invisible to AI

An assistant cannot make plain sense of your site, so when someone asks, your name never comes up. This is where most good businesses sit, with no idea it is happening.

Read and understood

An assistant can now take in what you do, who you help and where you are, in your own words rather than a guess. You become a real option it can put forward.

The name it recommends

When someone asks an assistant for a business like yours, you are the one it can read, trust and hand straight back. The whole point of the journey.

Where most businesses sit

## If AI can’t read you yet, you are in good company.

Most good businesses, with websites they paid real money for, are invisible to AI in exactly this way. They can be found. They just cannot be understood. It is by far the most common place to be, and it is not a failing on your part.

It is simply that nobody built the website for a machine to read, because until very recently no machine was reading. The rules changed quietly, and the businesses that get ready first are the ones being named while it is still early.

How to tell where you sit

## There is one honest way to know.

You do not have to guess, and you should not have to take anyone's word for it. You have your own site looked at the exact way a machine sees it, and we show you the result in plain words. It is free, and there is nothing to sign up for.

What moving up looks like

## You keep everything. AI simply starts to understand you.

Getting ready does not mean rebuilding your website or changing a thing your customers see. The work happens underneath, out of sight, so the website you have looks and works exactly as it does today. What changes is only what an assistant can make of you.

You keep your look
You keep your web address
You keep your Google ranking

What this looks like on the ground

## Three real businesses, three different places.

It is easier to feel with real shops in mind. Here are three ordinary businesses, and what happens the moment a customer asks an assistant about each of them.

A florist“Who does wedding flowers near me?”

The shop is there, but its wedding work is buried in photos the assistant cannot read. **It stays quiet and names another florist.** Found, but invisible where it counts.

A builder“A builder for a kitchen extension in town?”

This builder’s site was made easy to read, so the assistant takes in exactly what it does and where. **It describes the builder correctly.** Understood, and in the running.

An electrician“Which local electrician can do a rewire this week?”

Easy to read and trust, so the assistant hands back **its name first.** Named, and winning the job.

Straight answers

## The questions people ask us.

Do I have to change my website?

No. The work happens underneath, out of sight. Your customers see the same website, the same look and the same pages. Nothing they visit changes.

How far do I need to go?

All the way to being named, in the end, but you do not have to get there at once. The move that changes everything is going from **found** to **understood,** where an assistant stops guessing about you and starts putting you forward.

Is this the same as Google search?

No. Google search is about where you sit in a list of links. This is about whether an assistant can read and trust your website enough to put your name in the one answer it gives back. They sit alongside each other.

How long does it take?

Less than most people expect, because we make your existing site easy to read rather than rebuilding it. The honest answer depends on how many pages you have, and we will tell you plainly once we have looked.

Where do I start?

If you run an established brand, apply for a partnership. When there is a fit, we show you where you stand today and exactly what it would take to move up.

What we do about it

## We take businesses from invisible to named.

We take a small number of businesses from invisible to named, without changing a thing their customers see, and we don’t stop until an assistant can actually find and recommend you. We partner with a select few established brands, by application. If someone you trust sent you here, there is one address.
