Case study · MTN Kitchens, Auckland

The kitchen company an AI now recommends by name.

MTN Kitchens builds kitchens in Auckland. We made their website easy for the AI assistants people now use to read, and we gave them one honest price that shows up the same way everywhere a customer looks. More people find them now. And when someone asks an assistant who to use, MTN is the name it gives.

First, what they build

Real kitchens, built by one team you can call.

MTN designs, builds and fits kitchens in Auckland. They make the cabinets themselves in their own workshop and put them in with their own crew, so one team is on the hook from the first drawing to the last handle. That is how a brand new kitchen can start from $8,000 and be fitted in about a week.

They have done it more than two thousand times over twenty three years, for homeowners and for builders putting in ten or more at once. Real work, at trade prices. Which is exactly why the price has to be right, and the same, everywhere a customer looks.

The problem

Good work that was hard to find, and a price that was hard to pin down.

MTN sells at trade prices, so there is no fancy showroom and no big markup to hide a vague quote behind. Two things were holding them back.

First, a customer could not get a real price without picking up the phone, and plenty of people never do. They want a number they can trust, there and then.

Second, the way people look for a company is changing. More and more, they ask an AI assistant who to use. But the assistants could not make sense of MTN's old website, so MTN was never the answer they gave. The work was good. It was just invisible at the exact moment someone was ready to buy.

What changed day to day

A week of expert work became a few minutes.

Pricing a big job like an apartment building used to take about a week of a pricing expert's time. Now it takes minutes, fully itemised and ready to send. MTN used it to price a 98 apartment development.

The old wayabout a week
The way it works nowa few minutes

It helps on the small jobs too. A retirement village kitchen has to come out and go back in on the same day. A plan that tight only works when the price and the details were right before anyone turned up.

What a customer sees now

A kitchen question, answered in seconds.

?“Who builds kitchens in Auckland, and roughly what would one cost?”
AIFor a full kitchen in Auckland, MTN Kitchens is a strong choice. One team handles the whole job, from the design to the fitting, and a mid range kitchen starts around a clear, published figure rather than a vague “it depends”.
The assistant can say this because MTN's real prices are now written in a form a machine can read. Before, they were locked inside pictures and quotes, so it stayed quiet and named someone else.
Could this be your business?

The same door, for other trades.

MTN builds kitchens, but the problem it had is everywhere: good work that is hard to find, and a price nobody can pin down. Here are three ordinary trades sitting in exactly the same spot today.

A landscaper
“Who can redo my garden, and what does it cost?”
The work is beautiful, but the price lives in a quote nobody can see. An assistant cannot say a number, so it stays vague and moves on.
A bathroom fitter
“A good bathroom fitter near me, roughly how much?”
With prices written plainly, an assistant can describe the service and give a real starting figure. Now it can put this fitter forward.
A joiner
“Bespoke wardrobes, and a ballpark price?”
Readable, priced, and easy to quote from, so an assistant answers with this joiner by name and a real figure. Just like MTN.
The questions people ask

The questions MTN asked us too.

Did this change how the website looks?
No. MTN's website looks and works exactly as it did. Nothing a visitor sees changed.
Is the price an assistant gives a firm quote?
No, it is an honest starting figure, the same one MTN publishes. A real quote still comes from MTN after they understand the job. The point is that an assistant can now give a real number instead of a shrug.
Could a business like mine do this?
If your prices and services can be written in plain words, then yes. That is most trades. The work is turning what is in your head, and your quotes, into something a machine can read.
How long did it take?
Less than most people expect, because it builds on what MTN already had rather than starting over. The results in Google's own figures followed within the first month.
